M-Stocks App 1.2 for iOS: Now Available

Hi, all

I am pleased to announce that M-Stocks App 1.2 for iOS has been approved by Apple and it is already available for download on the App Store. It is great honor for us to release this new version for our users. Just to let you know, M-Stocks App has now over 70k downloads.

This new version comes with good news that we believe everybody will enjoy. Let's point them out:
  • Exchange Rate view
  • Broker's fee in Portfolio
  • Currency conversion in Portfolio
  • Sharing stock quotes on Facebook
  • UI improvements
  • New Info view
  • Bug fixes
Exchange Rate view allows you to watch the rate of main currencies. The app automatically detects your current currency and then presents the rate for bid and ask of each currency. The currency's change is also supposed to be presented. However, at this moment, Yahoo! Finance is failing to delivery it. In case Yahoo! reestablishes it, the app is ready to present the change.

The Portfolio view has two minor changes. Now you can define what is the broker's revenue share percentage. This broker's share is presented for each asset registered in your portfolio. In addition, you can also convert the stock's price to your current currency. This feature allows you to have stocks from different countries in your portfolio. In case you use this feature, beware you must convert the buy price value for yourself, when you are adding a new asset.

I would like to share with you that these two new features in Portfolio view were suggested by our users. So, if you have any idea that can help us to improve M-Stocks App, please, share it with us! You can send an e-mail to feedback@mstocksapp.com. We sincerely appreciate your contribution.

Other good feature is the possibility to share a given stock's quote with your friends on Facebook. Let your friends know where you are investing your money on. Who knows you have some friends that may also share good tips with you. To use this feature, you first need to allow M-Stocks App access your Facebook account. This process is very simple and secure and you perform it in the app. It is good to point out that M-Stocks App does not store any user name or password.

Regarding UI improvements, the main news is the new mechanism to refresh the data, which follows the UI pattern known as "Pull down to refresh", created by Loren Brichter. Nowadays, this mechanism is easily found in most iOS apps. Thanks guys from Enormego for providing us this great component.

The new Info view allows you many things. For instance, you can share M-Stocks App with your friends, send us your feedback, to know more about us, see our other apps, follow us on Twitter and Facebook and finally, rate us on the App Store. So, do not hesitate to visit this view as soon as you wish to perform any of those tasks.

Finally, some minor bug fixes. At every new version the app is more stable and we are working hard to get it even better.

So, I hope everybody enjoys this new version. If you are already a M-Stocks App's user, just access the App Store so you can be notified about the update. Otherwise, visit the App Store as well and install it now.

See you in the next post.
